Common values for the police service of England and Wales

Earlier this year, previous Home Secretary John Reid, wrote to all chief constables and chairs of police authorities setting out common values for the police service of England and Wales.

The statement sets out what the police service can expect from government, and what the public can expect from its police service. It captures the relationship and expectations that will shape the police service in the 21st century.
