National Policing Plan

National Policing Plan 2005-2008

The National Policing Plan 2005-2008, was published by the Home Office on Wednesday 24 November, following extensive consultation with the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), The Association of Police Authorities (APA) and other stakeholders.

The plan was launched by Hazel Blears in her speech at the APA conference, and contains the Home Secretary's key priorities for the police service for the next three years.

This is the third National Policing Plan, which highlights the key issues facing the police service today. It should be seen in the wider context of the Home Office Strategic Plan 2004-08, published in July, and the policy paper Building Communities, Beating Crime: A Better Police Service for the 21st Century, published earlier this month.
